Certified Nanny Weekend Program
The Nanny Institute has partnered with the US Nanny Association for a customized program to train and certify Nannies (Intermediate Childcare training and NCP certification). The Nanny curriculum focuses on safety, development milestones, medical issues, nutrition, employment law and general care for newborns through elementary years. This program includes foundational and intermediate childcare concepts (see course topics below).
1 Weekend = 2 Certifications
The Certified Nanny Weekend Training program has 16 hours of instructor-led training and a proficiency exam. Students also get full access to the basic and intermediate childcare courses online with an additional 4 hours of online courses for 2 months. The curriculum is designed and taught by college faculty so students who complete 20 hours will earn an Intermediate Childcare Certification and get a transcript that lists the program courses. The course is also approved by the US Nanny Association. This training is accepted as the training requirement for the Certified Nanny Credential (NCP).
Enrollment Fees and Tuition
Total tuition and fees are $799 and include 2 days of faculty-led training, workbook, boxed lunch on Saturday and Sunday, fee for the US Nanny Association Certified Nanny Credential and registration to the 2021 online Parent and Nanny Conference. With limited seats, enrollment will likely sell out quickly and the waitlist will close on August 1 to finalize the count for workbooks and the lunch order. Questions? Email Master Instructor Liz at email@example.com or call 941-773-9020.
Certification 1: Intermediate Childcare Provider Certification

- Academic and physical development focused on fitness and exercise by age, literacy from birth through elementary school and how to incorporate STEM into playtime
- Childhood health by Dr. Alexandra Murr with common ailments including fever, rashes, sprains, ear infections, lice, ticks, vaccinations and over-the-counter medications
Certification 2: Certified Nanny and Childcare Provider (NCP) – Optional
You will have access to these steps within 1 day of enrollment so you can complete these tasks before or up to 60 days after the weekend training. The certified nanny program has 6 requirements. You can download a Credential Step by Step Guide:
- Must be at least 18 years old and submit a copy of government-issued identification (from any country)
- You must submit a copy of your high school diploma, general education diploma (GED), a college transcript or any form of documentation that is equivalent to secondary education
- Submit a copy of a current CPR and First Aid certification from any reputable training organization
- Submit documentation of 20 hours of completed childcare training from a reputable training organization. The weekend course plus 4 hours of online classes will meet this requirement. The online classes included with this program are Emergency Planning, Safety in the Home, Water Awareness, Food Safety and Car Seat Safety. You also get free job support classes on resume writing, interview preparation, work agreements, payroll and taxes, and negotiating compensation classes.
- Submit documentation of at least one year defined as 2000 hours of paid childcare experience with this Work Verification Form
- Pass an exam (this exam will be completed on Sunday afternoon). If you do not pass the exam, you will have 60 days to retake the courses online (at your pace) and you get a second attempt to pass the exam online.
Meeting locations are selected for cleanliness and affordability to keep tuition low. We also strive to find a reasonable local commute and/or airport access. All transportation and accommodation are the responsibility of the student. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like travel recommendations. Rooms will fill quickly so we recommend booking early.
Instructor-Led Training Refund Policy
Enrollment fees and tuition include faculty-led instruction, a workbook and a boxed lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Enrollment fees and tuition do not cover breakfast, dinner, transportation or any overnight accommodation. US Nanny Institute is not responsible for any incurred travel or accommodation costs. As the event has already incurred expenses (venue, program supplies, food, instructor travel), enrollment fees and tuition are non-refundable. If faculty-led training is canceled by the instructor or the student cannot attend, the tuition will be transferred to the online program or future instructor-led training sessions (if sessions are scheduled and space is available).
I’ve been a nanny for over five years and I learned so much more than I expected. In each program, I gained new skills and used them right away with the children in my care. The faculty are college professors who really understand childcare. I am now earning more to help pay for graduate school.
I talk about the importance of education to the children in my care so it’s important that I invest in nanny and childcare training. I learned about nutrition, fitness, special education, child development, and so much more. The Professional Childcare program has made me a better nanny.
I worked as a live-in nanny and want to earn more with another long term position. My US Nanny Institute Certification makes my application stand out from the others.
As a mom who’s employed 2 nannies over 6 years, it was hard to find good candidates. I look for the US Nanny Institute Certification because it gives me confidence that the nannies have the right training to care for my kids.
I love teaching children about music and jumped at the chance to share my best tips and songs in a music course. Music is fun and nannies have an opportunity to delight and educate the children in their care.
The US Nanny Institute is invested in your success, including getting a job with a great family. All Nanny Institute programs include job placement classes. These classes teach expert resume writing, job search strategies, prepare you for interviews, and help you negotiate a work agreement. These classes are optional as many students are already successfully employed.
